CH2M HILL

About Us

When CH2M HILL was founded in 1946, the initial intent was to find clients who needed engineering or consulting solutions for their problems; solve those problems with technology, creativity, and ingenuity; find more clients and more projects; hire creative, bright people to deliver the work, and then share the benefits with them.

Little has changed in over 60 years, except that we keep growing…and growing. If you are asking yourself why you should join CH2M HILL, look no further than the initial intent of our founders.

Your expertise and talents can be applied in projects ranging from chemical plants in Buenos Aires to super cleanrooms in Japan, from nuclear cleanup in Colorado to wastewater treatment plants in New Zealand. The projects we work on and the markets we serve are as diverse as the world itself.

You'll partner with our clients, bringing the knowledge gained from a myriad of projects on every continent, and leveraging the company's rigorous attention to detail to create non-routine projects that are also models for the industry. We craft our solutions with sustainability—always mindful of government regulations, environmental concerns, maintenance requirements, and public perceptions.

You will be part of the only engineer–procure–construct–operate (EPCO) company that offers this wide spectrum of expertise, knowledge, and services across varied industries and government agencies. This scope and scale sets us apart in our commitment to partner with clients to achieve strategic and operational goals.

The CH2M HILL enterprise is built on honesty, ethics, and morals. Keeping the initial values of our founders in mind, today we have a global presence, with more than 24,000 employees in regional offices worldwide, and financial stability, with gross revenues of $5.12 billion in 2007. Not bad for four guys with big ideas…

CH2M HILL was founded in January 1946 in Corvallis, Oregon, as CH2M—a name derived from the initials of the company's four founders:Holly Cornell, James Howland, and T. Burke Hayes, Fred Merryfield. Some 25 years later, the company merged with Clair A. Hill and Associates to form CH2M HILL.
